I returned from a week’s vacation on Sunday, a real vacation, not a working one. My wife, Iris, and I flew to California, visited her family in Napa Valley, and enjoyed the fruits of my labor. We also met my sister and her family in Yosemite, spending several very outdoorsy days there. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable time.
During the trip I took some time to study for an up-coming Charitable Giving exam for my CAP (Certified Advisor in Philanthropy) certification, which is the latest certification I have been pursuing. I took one of the exams last year, and there is one more to go. There were eleven sections in this exam, each of which required about four hours of study. And, as a matter of fact, I took that exam this afternoon and passed it! One more task completed.
Meanwhile, since the last Retirement Planning Today® seminar that I gave at UNM Continuing Education, which was held June 5th and 12th, I have a lot of complimentary consultations scheduled with attendees of those seminars. This is in addition, of course, to our regular round of client visits and phone calls, investment changes, investment reviews, portfolio rebalancing, and so on.
But, I love what I do and I thrive on being busy, productive, and useful.
